Illustration details to be added when confirmed. Full color printing of illustrations, beginning of internal plates . With the help of her fairy godmother, a kitchen maid mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters, attends a palace ball where she meets the prince of her dreams. The story is told twice, first in verse, then in prose. The largest of the color plates depict a stage, within which the smaller plates tell the story pictorially as the plates are turned. First and last pages mounted on covers. These plates depict Cinderella and the prince in a private room. Cinderella’s step-mother looks on, but does not recognize Cinderella. The plates are framed by a stage-like illustration with the orchestra below. |
